New owner in Newport Oregon

Aloha All, Wife and I are new owners of a 2004 22 Cruiser. Moved to Newport, Oregon from Hilo Hawaii last year after retiring from University of Hawaii Marine Center.
I was captain of the RV KAIMIKAI-O-KANALOA . A 225ft manned submersible support ship. Supporting the Hawaii Under sea Research Lab (HURL for short)
"IWALANI" is presently receiving some tlc at the shop, Adding shore power hook-up, flushing the fuel system, rebuilding carbs ,twin Honda BF 40s., new bottom paint.
Hope to have it in the water next week.
Any tips are greatly appreciated

Just in time to sign up for the 16th Annual Catalina Adventure.... it is Sunday, July 30, 2017 to Saturday, August 5, 2017 ....we usually depart from Marina DelRay but I depart from Channel Islands...much more fun I think..

Captain Wings, Welcome. I'll give you my best tip ever --- Don't sleep on the freeway, ever. Now on to important stuff, you have twins. Oh that is so good. Learn to use your differential throttle steering on your 22 anytime you need presice maneuvering. And then there is the general stuff, like come to the get togethers, called CBGT's for C Brat Get Togethers, and meet your new extended family. Great folks with good boats, and similar tastes, goals and interests. Right now there are 16 boats, all together at Powell River, BC for a weekend. Half from US, and half from Canada, and it's a great time. There's probably a ton of stuff to tell you, but mainly, stick around on the site here, there isn't any thing you can learn about a C-Dory that you can't find here.

Enjoy and use the boat. Assuming you have a trailer, know your boat will do 70mph, and that gives you a rather long range.
