New Online Record

True Story

How many of you have noticed that our record for "Most Users Online" was twenty, on Nov. 02, 2003 at 3:57 PM? I know DaNag Bill has. For some reason, I keep looking at this statistic when I'm on the home page expecting to witness a new record to no avail. I am beginning to wonder now if it even works?

I thought we could REALLY spice things up a bit around here by attempting to establish a new record. Certainly not the most important accomplishment we could make considering real life goals such as reducing world hunger, successful fudging on our income tax, remembering how to tie a bowline (something about bunnies, holes and fence posts I think?) etc.

Here's what I'm thinking. We should first set a date and time to get online. I believe our best opportunity to break the record would be during a weekday, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. But in order to allow those of you an opportunity to participate who actually consider working more important than messing around on the site..... I suggest we log on next Sunday night at 7:00 PM (West Coast). We could even make profound posts on this page by typing things like; I'm here, or OK, now what? or This is stupid. or Gee, I hope we break the record.

Well, thats it. Thats all I got. What do you think?

I was always confused as to which Sunday NEXT Sunday meant. Is NEXT Sunday THIS sunday coming up or is this coming Sunday the Sunday before the NEXT Sunday?

I always thought THIS Sunday was the NEXT Sunday. But others sometimes refer to NEXT Sunday as the Sunday after this coming Sunday.

Only thing I am sure of is that it follows either THIS Saturday or NEXT Saturday.

Either way I will be online at 7 PM and if the numbers start increasing I will know I am there on the right Sunday.

Thanks David for asking this question. I'm not sure if I know when next Sunday is either. But, to clarify my intent, I was thinking that Sunday, February 8, 2004 at 7:00 PM would be a good time to break the record.

No No No--- this Sunday is this Sunday and next Sunday is next Sunday and last Sunday was last Sunday while Sunday week ago was before last Sunday which was before this Sunday which is before next Sunday--- ok?

See, I told you guys this was going to be quite an accomplishment. Like Momma used to say "nothin good comes easy". Who knows, this could show up in some of our obituaries should we be successful. Thanks BCK for your proposed simple solution to a tough problem, but I'm still thinkin we should stick with next Sunday.

I can get on this next Sunday, unless I am in, say, Japan. Then it would be next this Monday, and I couldn't do it. :? Right?

But seriously PST, CST or EST, who's 7-oh-:clock are we talking about this next Sunday? :? :?

What about Oregonians? aren't they generally running about 20 years behind the times? how does that affect the equation?

It is a Sun Day (on a Saturday) in Birch Bay right now! We can get lots of nice Sun Days all through the year, I think it is probably the seasons you are thinking of, particularly Summer, which usually occurs on or around July 29th...

With your soggy Nor'west climate, isn't the next Sun Day sometime in May?

Ken, Ken, Ken,

Always trying to get the Oregonian rift going . Try this on; there would be no Washington State if it weren't for the Oregonians' :wink.

awww, I spent most of my years in Oregon, just have to fire a salvo over the river once in a while to see if you guys are awake :)
