I am removing my current marine toilet that i have yet to use with a more multipurpose one. This can also be used as a bailing bucket/bait bucket/extra seat and fish bucket, to be cleaned after every use.The toilet lid was purchased on Amazon for about $ 20, if i remember correctly.My current toilet is just taking up space which i will replace with a storage box. Good for you but I just dont get it. Why would you want to carry around crap in a bucket? where do you get rid of it? are you going to walk to a trash can with a bag of crap every time you come into port?

It just maybe me but I want to be as far removed from the whole process as possible. I have a marine head with a 20 gallon holding tank. we can stay out about two weeks before having to empty it and that's using it all the time and not using shore facilities. So far it has worked flawlessly expect for a little seaweed we picked up in the inlet valve. took me 5 Min's to fix it. (yes knocking on wood) Yes we get a smell once in while but nothing like a bag of crap in a bucket is going to be.

I would consider the composting head that others have but only if this one goes out on me.

In our area there are lots of free pump outs around and if in Canada we just do what the city of victoria does and bump over board when we are out in the deep channels while the tide is running.
 
I have yet to be out on my boat for more than a day, if i were to overnite or longer than i would re-install the original marine toilet.This new toilet is basically just for emergencies, the lid comes off and i can stuff it under the mattress when not in use.If needed a garbage bag in the bucket would work fine and than i would depose of it at the marina. It is not the best of choices but it should work ok in a pinch. Tug
 
I think its really meant to be used as an alternative to a porta potty and you would use a WAG Bag with it. We use the screw on lid kit that fits onto a 5 gal bucket. The lid seals up air tight. The lid can be screwed on with the top of the bag sticking out or you can close the bag and put a twist tie on it and use the bag multiple times as it has the jelling powder in it. The bags can be purchased many places. The bags are a requirement in some wilderness areas. Walmart now has their version and it works well.

If your just day tripping I see how it would work for you but a c-dory is a boat you should spent lots of time on.
 
Kevin ,thanks for the links, that is exactly what would work for me. I just watched a video on how to use the WAG BAG, very simple to use. I will check out Walmart the next time i am there. Tug
 
A port a potty works so well and is so cheap I just can't see useing a bucket.
