New Laurna Jo at home

Yep for sure David!!

Well we finally got the new Laurna Jo in the water Monday April 11, and had a successful sea trial. The 135 started right up andsettled down, even though it was only about 40 degrees out. We started the break-in period and just enjoyed the ride!! Loading her back up on the King was a breeze... if we can duplicate that most of the time, it will be added pleasure for sure.. "no drama" launching and loading works for us to be sure.

Next order of business before finishing the rigging is that the new Laurna Jo will be the Official Marine Parade Boat of the Tacoma Outboard Association for the Tacoma Daffodil Festival this coming weekend. We will be judged along with dozens of other "floats" . And there expected to be over 8,000 linear of feet of Boats participating in the parade Sunday the 17th. More later, info at the Daffodil page of the Tacoma Yacht Club's Homepage..

So let's hear some more of this story. Likes/dislikes in the difference 22/25?

Congrats on the successful sea trial! She's a fine looking vessel, she is!

Just a post to let you know that C-Dory does it again!!

Laurna Jo As Tacoma Outboard Assoaciations' Daffodil Marine Parade entry Takes 1st Place!!!
And wins Commodore's Trophy too!!

We beat all the big boats with the smallest boat out there.
Pictures to follow!!

that's way neat....aint fair, but neat....I mean, how can those other boats compete with a C-Dory....any apparent, justified head swelling?

Good going guys!

Jim... Congrates on the boat competition.... During our Nashville gathering... one of the local boats challenged one of our C-Dory owners for a little head to head to see who was the tuffest..... See the Pelican in action on the Nashville Gathering photo albumn.... photos available for viewing thanks to the help of Fishtales and Halcyon....and of course Pelican to the show..Byrdman

Hey, Jim and Laurie, way to go! That really is cool.

When I was a kid in the late 60's we used to attend that affair, and sometimes enter. But to win, wow.

Saw you were out on the water today! I was beach fishing across from TOA and I saw you come in from the north. I had to look through the Bridge Viewing Telescope to make sure it was the Laurna Jo. Looken good 8) Robbi

Jim & Laurie,

You sure looked good coming down Narrows. We had just come out of dense fog returning from Jarrel Cove and what appeared before our very eyes - a BRAND NEW 25ft C-Dory. I was concentrating on following a big boat with radar when what to my wandering eyes should appear but & Laurie in their new little dear. It took me awhile to find 68. So good to chat and know it was you.

We want on into Gig Harbor had a great lunch at the Tides Tavern and then cruised along the shores of Maury Island looking at the Yuen Lui's spectacular summer home.

Hope your trip to Seattle was a good one.

Sure wish I had Radar

We had a great day out there on the water. Started up towards Seattle then decided to head back towards Olympia.

We just took our time and enjoyed the ride. Made it all the way to Swan Town and had to give the dogs a little bit of land time. Then ran into a great couple that bought a new 22 at the boat show in January. They were nice people but I can't remember the name of the boat. Jim will know it. Then we head back out and spent the night in Gig Harbor and met up with Bill and Evelyn of the Brave Heart. Had great dinner with them at the Tides :beer :beer . Looking forward to getting out some more. Well I am sure Jim will write more. But just to let everyone know I did post some more pictures of the boat all decked out in her flowers.

Ok, We did a 4 day land tour of Denali, then rode the train from Denali to Whittier, We boardeded Princess Cruises' Island Princess, and stopped at Skagway, Juneay, and Ketchikan, then Vancouver and a train ride home. We had a great time , saw endless beauty, and it was a great ship and crew. A vacation we both needed, although we really missed our C-Brat friends for sure.
