New cockpit seat in the Venture 26

I noticed this in the WB Nod (Foggy) album

It was labeled cockpit seat.
Is this a custom feature? Something the factory is now doing on all Venture 26's? Something that's been done for awhile and I only now noticed it? Just wondering. It looks like a mod that might appeal to some folks (especially those who don't fish).

It looks like a standard step/seat/fish box that all the true Ventures have. Our 23' Venture has the same looking boxes with thru hull drains that were almost at the waterline. We keep dock lines, hoses and a manual bilge pump in the boxes and had outside drains glassed over. We drilled holes in the bottom of the boxes in the rear and let them drain into the cockpit now. They are nice steps for getting in and out of the boat. They also make a nice extra seats if you have company over for coffee or cocktails.

This seat/step/box is a (pleasant) surprise to me as well as are some others. I made no specific requests for it.

If this was the place the marine holding tank was to be (I have the AirHead, no holding tank), I did request the holding tank space be used for storage.

I'm sure it will come in handy and be a convenient step for embarking/debarking. Drainage holes? Well see.

Also, please envy the neat small LED aft cockpit light under the pilothouse hardtop, above the small grab bar. It was an option.
