[But, Master Marine in Bellingham just a short while ago was advertising some for around 50 thousand with a trailer, honda 90, and some other accesories. Here is a link. http://www.mastermarine.com/inventory.php

Just a quick nit to pick here -- Master Marine is in Mt. Vernon.

Warren

Thanks Warren for pointing that out. I didn't think the gentleman interested in C-Dory would have a clue where Mt. Vernon was so I said Bellingham. But in hindsight, most folks probably don't know where that is either.....

On the dealer invoice for our 2008 it lists the hull for $34,000 and the single Honda 90 with rigging for $8,700. I imagine prices have gone up since then. These prices don't reflect factory accessories or electronics. If you want detailed price info PM me, but I'll be gone for the next week and doubt I'll have internet.

As far as warranty concerns...I wouldn't be too concerned. Maybe I've been lucky, but I haven't had anything significant (i.e. takes me longer than 10 minutes to fix, and I'm no mechanic) break on my boat since new. There were a few issues I noticed with rigging after the first day on the boat and the dealer came to the marina and fixed them within a week. If you decide to buy a new C-Dory, run the boat for a weekend near the dealership to find any issues before having it shipped home.

Hi,
Buying a C-Dory for me was sparked by the wonderful owners group and the C-Brat internet site. I bought one because they have been proven to to be tough boats some 25 years old still being actively used. They are seaworthy, lighter than most boats in their class. The last item is important as you can use less power (smaller motor cheaper to purchase) which translates into better fuel economy on the water and best of all for me easy to tow. The 22' Cruisers with a pilot house make for dry, cozy place in inclement weather no matter if you are towing and in a rest area or out on the water hanging on the anchor. Their relatively flat bottom makes for a shallow draft so you can go where other boats can not. On calm water you can cruise along at 18 to 20 mph or if it gets funky slow down to 8 to 12 mph and go thru most anything. These are not just any old boats. Maybe they are not for you. but I would not discriminate based on not having a local dealer. Typically the dealer you purchased from would direct you to a local service provider and pick up the tab after an agreed on course of action. Like others have said all the items added to the boat have individual warranties. I would pick a motor choice that could be supported locally to yourself as that is an item that will require service. Don't forget about the C-Brats who are a wonderful resource should you be a do it yourselfer or just have questions about anything. For me the hull is the least of my worries. I have mounted things in the gunnels and added inspection plates in my floor and I was amazed how thick and well constructed these areas were compared to some of the boats I have owned previously. Take a plane down to Florida, North Carolina or out to the west coast kick some tires, get some prices, enjoy some of the best seafood, test ride some boats. If that does not work for you arrange a test ride with a C-Brat near you. Just do post on the site and I'm sure someone will respond. If after that you decide on something else at least you will have given these fine people and boats a fair shot.

Will-C's response was so well stated that I have nothing new to add to this thread.
It would be nice to have a way to give an individual post an anonymous "thumbs up" meaning that you agree with that poster but didn't feel a need to post a reply. A simple "did you you agree with this poster" kind of icon.
And likewise a "thumbs down" meaning the poster might be a little off, as voted on collectively. Might not hurt his/her feelings as bad and a reply need not be negative.

Will-C.....Thumbs Up!!

Irlboater,

When I started looking for a C-Dory about a year ago I couldn't believe the easiest dealer for me to get to would be in North Carolina. But I made the trip, 7 hours there and 7 hours back, two times and I am glad I did! Just got the boat home a few days ago. Gene and Carrie at Mobile East Marine couldn't have been nicer and I hope to be cruising on "My Girl" for many years to come. I consider the C-Dory to be a special boat and it often takes an extra effort to get one. And it's worth it! :thup

Hull construction has never been better. Triton Marine is doing quality work.
