New boat, new season

Ok, not a "new" boat but C-Dancer looks showroom new. We picked her up from Bitter End Boatworks yesterday and OMG, she looks beautiful. We decided to have Jesse's fiberglass sub fixed the deep scratches and gouges we inflicted on her in 10 years of boating. Although they took longer than expected, the results were great. Then Jesse's team detailed the exterior, cleaning, compounding and waxing. I tell you the boat has never looked better. She really looks brand new. We're very happy with the job Bitter End Boatworks did. Jesse wasn't happy with the job that the fiberglass guy did initially and insisted the work be redone to his specifications. The final result was great. I highly recommend Bitter End Boatworks! Thanks Pat and Patty.

After chomping at the bit to kick off the boating season after a long winter, we finally got out on the water for this season's maiden voyage. We decided to go to Deer Harbor on Orcas Island. Just after passing through Pole Pass, who do we run into none other than our old C-Brat friend Brock in his cute 16 Bambina. He was just ending his journey breaking in his brand new Honda 50 in the San Juans. It was great seeing him. He mentioned he'll be attending the Friday Harbor CBGT in a couple of weeks.

Now I'm sitting in the sunshine on the docks of Deer Harbor with Caryn. It doesn't get better than this. Life is good!

Wow, a detailed boat, a sunny day in the San Juans with Caryn, and a sighting of Brock and Bambina! Just another perfect day. :love

If you guys look out across the bay, we are tied up over at the community dock on crane island right by pole pass this weekend in our 22 angler "pescadory" for her maiden voyage after bringing her up from Monterey where we just bought her! Will say hello if we see you!

Peter and Caryn,

I have been wondering about Brock for a while, no hear no see. Glad he still has the boat and is using it. (Must be, if it needed a repower.)

Sounds like a perfect day. Bitter End sounds pretty good.

See you in a couple weeks too.

Busski,

Congrats on your new boat. We're staying overnight. Stop by and say hi.

Peter

Thanks for the kind words Marty and Harvey. I think we saw your boat on the dock Busski. Here's a couple of pics.

It was a fantastic weekend in the San Juans!

Bambina is now 26 years old! As Brock once said, " these boats never lose their appeal. You new C-Dory people will feel the same way years from now."

Patty here. SO glad Bitter End didn't disappoint. Can't wait to see C-dancer at FH. (You will be there, right?) We were so pleased so it's good to hear you were, too.

Glad to hear of the refurbishment, Peter. Envy your trip out there last weekend, love Deer Harbor. Looking forward to seeing you both at Friday Harbor and talking some fishing and maybe planning a trip!

Hi, Brats. Hey, Peter and Caryn, thanks for the publicity shot. It was really nice to see you two, and I'd wished then that I didn't have to head east. I had just left Deer Harbor. Your boat was sure purdy!
I forgot what a great big bunch of fun boating can be. Yep, Bambina has a new motor back there blasting me to all my favorite places, which is everywhere. A year ago some friendly night-crawlers made off with my old Honda while it sat on the trailer. That was a shock for Brock. A Brock shock. But after 20 months away from boating it was just such a thrill to go San Juaning again. I was happy to find I didn't forget much and picked up right where I left off. (The bow is the pointy end up front, stuff like that.) In 26 years I don't recall boating a week in April, and wow, it was like 1968 up there. Dock space aplenty. Gas a few pennies higher.
