need advice passenger side "frame" pulling away fr

I have a 25' c-dory, the table and forward chair frame is separating from the hull. I took everything out down to the frame and saw that there was some kind of chalk that held the frame to the hull, is that all there is? seems like a lot of stress for adhesive? Any suggestions as to make the frame secure to the hull or what kind of adhesive works?

Unless your 25 was different than mine, the seat frame (wood, Decaboard) was glued together to the floor between the seats and the aft seat and cabinet. The bottom is held to the boat with "L" brackets screwed into the floor. This whole structure floats free of the hull sides. There may have been some Caulk put in for cosmetics, but not structural.

Photos would help--also of the entire structure, including how it is attached to the floor.
