Nav Lights

Hope someone has some ideas on how to fix here. Getting Litl' Tug ready for the spring and was checking all systems out. Tried to turn on the nav lights and anchor light, and the red and green running lights stay on at both positions of the switch, running and anchor both. :?

Is this just a bad switch issue?

Now I just need to remember to turn them off, I also ran the battery down in the driveway as I left the switch on.

Tivo,

I think Dave is correct.

On my CDory, there are two switches (Nav and Anchor), if your boat is similar, there should be a diode between the two. If it is a single switch, like Dave says replace the switch. If it's two switches, replace the diode, being sure to get the polarity correct.

Give me a shout if you want to talk.

Steve

I have the plunger style switch with two positions for anchor and nav. I will stop by West Marine today to grab one. I also noted I have to wiggle the anchor light to get it to illuminate, another issue I am sure.

Thanks for the input. I am a little leary of electrical issues, last one I tried to fix I messed up and shorted out the repositioning switch on my wipers, now I have to time their stoppage to keep them out of my view.

Tivo:

At least on my Tomcat, the wiper self-parking circuit just has a simple fuse that occasionally blows. All that is needed to have the wipers park automatically is to replace the fuse.

Of course, you may have a different setup.
