Nano Technology & A Very Dry Demonstration

I just watched this recent TED talk and demonstration of how nano technology can be used to water-proof any surface. The application of this technology is so far-reaching. Boating is an obvious one.

If they wanted to paint the bottom of my boat I would sure let them. It seems technology is getting way ahead of me but if I was younger this would be a great idea to invest in.

I read the comments under the TED video - the comment that it appeared to be an infomercial struck me as being true. Apparently, it's not ready for prime time as the comments from people who actually purchased this stuff state: http://www.amazon.com/UltraTech-4000-Ul ... ewpoints=1

Not cheap either and apparently only lasts 2-8 months before it needs to be reapplied.

Does seem like a very useful product if it can be transferred to the "real world" successfully.
