Hi all,

After many delays the crew of the Nancy H gets to go on vaction! We are leaving in the morning from Ventura County and heading to Washington and British Columbia. We hope to go as far north as Port McNeil and Echo Bay in the Broughton Islands.

Nancy has retired from teaching and so our schedule is variable depending on mood, whim and the weather. We are going to go to the Sequim and Lake Shasta gathering, but the rest is made up as we go.

I will post when internet access is available.

I hope to see you "on the coast"! :smile

Have a great trip! And enjoy the best times of your lives now that you are both retired. We are planning to make the Sequim gig, so hope to see you there.

Larry and Nancy, I'm Glad you two can make the Sequim Gathering and happy retirement. Cynthia and I just returned from our vacation and passed through your neck of the woods a couple of days ago.

Many moons ago, I fished Oxnard and the Ventura area all the time.

Larry and Nancy- We're looking forward to meeting you at the lake Shasta gathering in October. My wife Cathy and I spend a total of 70 years teaching in the high schools in Fremont, Ca, so we know how you folks must feel to finally make retirement. Have a deserved great summer, and we'll see you in October. Joe and Cathy

Mike and Dusty,

Thanks, we hope to see you and we will give you a call if we are in your neighborhood.

John & CLou, and Sea Wolf,

Thanks, we look forward to meeting you at the gatherings.

We're hitting the road this morning, won't be long now!

Larry and Nancy, have a wonderful trip up and around the Inside Passage, and be prepared for show and tell come Sequim. It will be nice to meet you.
:hot

Hi all,

We are still on vacation, the retirement way(one day at a time). We are staying in Pedder Bay, east of Victoria, B C. Its a small sportfishing harbor where the locals go out to Race Rocks for salmon and halibut. Its been raining some, but today is sunny. I'm sending this from the Sooke library, Sooke is a small town east of Pedder Bay.

See you at Sequim!

That sure sounds like fun!
I want all the details of any trip up the inside passage as I may well venture up that way next year

Now about Squim.... I need to upgrade my tow rig so I don't have to buy one in Washington...

Enjoy your vacation and retirement. I need these stories so I have something to look forward to....

Ray,

Pedder Bay is all about the fish.. Almost all of the boats here are just used for fishing. I saw Kings at about 30-35 lbs being landed.

A lot of locals launch, go fishing, then haul out and go home.

There is a two lane launch ramp with floats on both sides, gas dock, small store with food and fishing gear, parking, and RV park(small).

Larry, sounds like my kind of place!
Thanks for sharing the stories and updates.
I would love to make a trip up the inside passage or through the gulf islands....

Well, I wasn't going to ask, but since you mentioned it, when you are retired, what are you on vacation FROM ? You can explain it at Sequim, over a beer!
