Mote Marine warns about whale sharks spotted in Sarasota Bay
Nick D'Amato spotted two whale sharks off of New Pass last week and captured them in a video. He was fifteen miles off of New Pass when he spotted the two whale sharks.
"They spent over 40 minutes with us investigating our boat," he says.
This story is similar to that of local resident, Mike Angers, who spotted two whale sharks about 15 miles off of Big Pass a few days before.
Whale sharks are plankton eaters and harmless to humans.
