Mosel River

We leave tomorrow for a three-week trip cruising on the Mosel and the Rhine, Belgium to Switzerland. Tried to ship over a C-Dory for this cruise last year but too expensive, so we cruise on a commercial river boat this year. We had a delightful cruise on the Danube, Main, and Rhine last fall across Europe from Vienna to Amsterdam so decided on another European cruise for this Spring.

Those of you who love cruising, history, and international experiences, might consider time off the C-Dory for some drifting in Europe with walks through medieval towns and castles en route.

Or, if you like the wild side, one of our favorite cruises was on a local fishing boat on the Amazon. And last winter, our cruise on a catamaran through the Panama Canal, anchoring in the swamps, walking in the rain forest watching birds and critters, and visiting with natives along Gatun Lake was delightful.

Have a fantastic trip post some ok? We'll be on the way to Europe to do a narrow boat in England in a couple seasons. Thru Europe looks very interesting. Have fun. George

We'll be SPOTTING, Casey. And George, in England we took a canal boat on the Birmingham Loop. Nice circle route. Narrow boat over 80' long and about as wide as a C-D! We drove it, and on the curves she was a challenge.
Shared the trip with friends (two other couples), most meals aboard (but with pub stops en route). Tied to shore or locks at night, spun most of the locks ourselves, and a thoroughly delightful trip. The canal was high on hillsides so the views of the British countryside were marvelous and we took a long (haunted by a witch [reputedly a vampire]) tunnel under the city. You'll have great time.

Favorite place to do a little wine probehren was Piesport, just don't probe too much! At many of the vieverkaft the owner will sit right down and do a little tasting right along with you. Wow, what a great cruise. Hope you'll have some bikes with you.
