Another 3" so far and it's still coming down heavy. And I just had our street cleared down to bare pavement in enough places to get up the hill.. Hopefully it will warm up enough today, transition into rain and wash some of this away.

Moscow ID -- 4" new last night, for a total of 6" in the last 24 hours. :xnaughty Merry Christmas. :xseek 1/3 mile of driveway to clear, again. Yesterday I shoveled the deck, most of it, over 2 feet deep, Something to do to burn off the eggnog calories :xtongue . Winding and still snowing at 0700. It is a white Christmas, no place to go, and no work to do, good family time :hug :hug2 :photo :love :rose :thup :thup

What a wonderful concept.

2" more in Fall City, overnight, film at 11...Actually I think I will go out and take a few pix, this is a RARE event, the most snow since we have lived in this house (since 1986), and maybe longer. Still not much compared to Alaska or Minnesota, but it just wreaks havoc around here. Power was out last night but it is back on this morning.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Well, if you were to say that we lived a lot further north I would believe it. We currently have well over 2.5 ft of snow in our front yard. I have had to use the tractor twice to plow our drive way just to go to work. Now that's some deep snow. We have ice sickles hanging from our eves that are over three feet. I parked the tractor in the field as we have lost several trees in the last few days. There it sits with the front tires covered in the white stuff.
Last night the wife and I traveled up to Washington - safely may I add. I'd have to say the Eastside is a lot lighter then the Portland Metro area. I guess as Northwesterns we should be careful asking for snow for Christmas....Anyhow, I hope all Brats are safe and warm today. Merry Christmas to all. I'll be posting some of the choice pics earlier next week. Take care and God bless.

Rain last night then snow this morning here in marysville. I hope we get more. Snow at christmas is a good thing that I have missed since living here.

Snowing in Kalama. I'm diggin it (literally). First truly white Christmas since I left Klamath Falls, 30 winters ago.

I finally made it to work this morning. Got totally stuck in the 4X4 truck this morning on our private road at the SE corner of our property. Hoofed it back to the house and got the 4X4 Kubota tractor, while Carol phone a neighbor of mine to join me and drive the tractor for me. We graded snow away from the front and rear of the truck and still couldn't get out. In the meantime another neighbor in a 4X4 came down the road and tried to pass me (one lane road) and he got stuck too. After an hour of work (and shoveling) we got both rigs "extricated" and my buddy drove my tractor to my shop while I continued on to work.

Now I'm at work and one of our Aid and one of our Medic units got stuck, so the patient was transported in a 4X4 to another Aid unit for continued transport to the hospital.

Glad that I've only got 21 1/2 hours left to work on this shift.... :smilep

As for the snow report at our house, we had a total of 24 inches two days ago, and currently receiving more.

The weatherman said that the weather report for Arlington Heights is "Still and Clear".......ie: "Still Snowing and Clear Up to Your A$$"

At any rate, I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and keep healthy and safe. Stay in your house huddled around the wood stove to keep warm.

Wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas! :xtongue

Merry Christmas from Dot, Marty, and Lizzie. We are all tucked away for the duration.

We keep our boat in Southern California...so we can use it year round....but here at the cabin....I love the snow...because it gives me a chance to use my tractor...

I bought an old Kabota snowblower attachment and mounted it in the front. of my Koboa tractor.... added a hydraulic pump to the power take off....and a hydraulic drive motor to the blower... I don't like to have to back up to blow show.... so now I can sit back...go forward and blow snow... plus I can cut the snow at any height up to about 5' ....... I used a power window motor to rotate the shute.... it's kool.. great fun..

I had cabin fever again today and got out for a quick run in the slush/snow. About 3.7 miles today but it felt like a lot longer. Along the way, I was lucky enough to be able to help two stranded motorists get their vehicles unstuck (along with a few other of "Santa's Elves"). Then as a was nearing my house on the return a guying driving a van put himself in the ditch good right in front of me. Stopped to see that he was OK and had someplace warm to go that was close. His vehicle is not getting out without professional help (deep in a deep ditch). All-in-all a good day for me but I wasn't foolish enough to try to drive around in our neighborhood today. If it snows more tonight/tomorrow, I might have to run down to the nearest operating bus stop and go to work just to get the heck out of the house.

It has been snowing since yesterday evening at my house near the Talkeetna Mts a few miles outside of Wasilla, Alaska. The wind has been blowing about 20 mph or so off and on. The high temperature today was all of 8 degrees. It was -12 oustide when I woke up at 4 to put some wood in the stove. So far, we have not lost power and that is a very good thing. I am waiting for it to quit snowing before I dig out as I got some frostbite that I really don't want to expose to the cold again from last week's snow storm. I would estimate that we got 7 inches or so today with more on the way tonight.

The snow guage in the middle of the yard reads 38 inches so far has piled up. It is thick stuff too. Its been rained on, frozen rained on, heavy snowed on, light snowed on, thawed, frozen- you name it, it has happened to it.

But, by far the worse thing that has happened this winter is my apple tree was almost completely consumed by a moose and her calves. I hope it recovers as I love apple pie!

Clearly, no matter how bad it is, it is far worse somewhere else. Like many of you, I am ready for spring. And, unlike you, relief isn't coming any time soon.

Merry Christmas to All!

Tim

You know if we had sufficient numbers of snow plows around here so that you could still get around OK when it snows, most of us WA guys and gals would love it too. It's just when there's only 27 some plows for a town of 560,000+ people, a little snow causes big problems. Worse yet, they use no salt and INTENTIONALLY don't plow down to the surface. See this newspaper article to understand just how messed up the snow clearing around here is. I too actually like snow, I just don't like a little snow trapping me at my house for 5+ days.
