On 2001 22 cruiser the owners book says each tank's capacity is 20 gal.
Other posts I have read from earlier models say tanks hold more- What is correct?
Anyone out there heard of Espar heaters? Looks like @$1200.00 with a all included kit. Low voltage draw- looks like little Toyo-
Boat will not ship to Ak. until Nov. 2nd- Winter schedule. Thanks, pz
 
Most of the earlier boats had 18 gallon tanks. Don't know what year that changed but I thought the newer ones had 25 gallon tanks. But you can't access all that fuel. In one of my 18 gallon tanks I can probably only use about 16 before it sucks air. Previous owner put a pipe nipple in the pickup tube to get to the bottom. And it did. In direct sunlight the tank top sagged enough to let the nipple hit the bottom and cause a suction, closing off all fuel pickup. Took a couple exercises to figure that one out. The Espar would be overkill for a 22. They put out lots of hot air but the cycling on and off would drive you nuts. And when they cycle you can hear the clicking and the jet take off sound. But the price seems very reasonable. I am installing a Wallas 1300 furnace this weekend, which I hope is more appropriate. Really simple and the install looks really straightforward. I will post when done with the review.
 
Our 2001 has 20 gallon fuel tanks.

The Espar D2 is the heater we're going with. There are several folks here who have installed them and everyone seems to like them.

I was told my tanks were 20 gal. This week I removed the tanks to reseal the screws and read on the tanks that they have a 25 gal capacity.
To be sure I should run one dry then refill completely.
 
I own a 22 cruiser. My boat is a2006 model and both of my tanks are 25 gallon .I have ran one dry and it took 25 gallons to fill. Neal
