Modifying a 16 Angler's bow storage area....

I have a question which I think may be construed as insane....but here goes. Lol.

Have any 16 Angler owners ever cut out or ATTEMPTED to cut out the plastic to the port side of the helm??? It seems that with some trimming and modifications that a simple, single lounge area could be made. Kinda like a futon but not folding out completely. I'm aware that the captain and first mate seats would be in the way but an extra lounge seat could definitely fit there.

Now..... Let me know how idiotic and silly I am for asking this!

I used a Roto Tool to cut out the fiberglass. The bottom of the bulkhead will still be about 12" above the floor. That can not be removed.
 
Very nice! Great modding ...I like owners who aren't afraid of resale value and warranty issues. It's only plastic guys..... Don't be afraid; the C Dory gods will bless you.
 
There is nothing structural in any of the bulkhead above the base pedestal that the upper bulkhead is bolted to. Much easier to get to things in the bow.
