I live in Los Angeles but I will visit my parents at their Kezar Lake water front home in So Maine near Lovell sometime in July or August. I wondered if any C-Dory gathering is happening along the Maine coast and if a C-Doryman would like to take me on as crew to see the Maine coast? I have crewed on a nice, big 25 ft C-Dory before in two San Francisco Bay/ River Delta cruises with Steve of the C-Dory Dora Jeane. He's my reference as a good crewman. I carried (and emptied) his porta potty at marinas! (I didn't want him to abandon me on Alcatraz!)
Another idea if it appeals to someone in Maine or NH with a 22 ft or larger C-Dory would be to rent it to me for a period of time when you won't miss it. I would ask you to bring it to the marina at Kezar Lake for them to launch it. I'm thinking a week or a work week. I might like to sleep nights on board at my parent's dock so my folks can invite other family members to stay in their guest bedroom. Well to be honest, I just am starved for some solitary C-Dory time. I would love to anchor overnight in the lily pads with the loons and fish for pickerel. I would not take the boat out of Kezar Lake. You can take the trailer home until you return to pick up your boat. I love my C-dory and would respect your love for your boat and use it responsibly and with caution. I was in the USCG Auxiliary and trained in their boat crew course. I am 58 and not a rambunctious alpha male boating maniac.
Anyone interested?
