We still have a leak under our cabinet under the sink in our cc23 We have sealed the front anchor locker with new 5200 also we rechalked our s/s railings leaks were found there . I guess get a friend to shoot the boat with water while im in the boat It probably is coming from the rub rail. Anyway its a Boat (Bring out another thousand) only kidding

another subject we had a great run today with Bidgood a cd 22 with lots of nice additions like solar collectors ,A/C and assorted electronics . We were out in the Gulf today with 2-4 footers what a ride all the big deep v 's were wallowing .I love our boats another nice feature we left with a very low tide about 1 ft of water in our slip no problem its a c dory .

I hope some of the C-Brats get down to fl. this winter and we can do a St. John;s river trip or Keys etc.

We have a friend who has a new Venture 23 from the C-Dory line, which is what you have listed in the info column to the left of your post. (the cc23 in the post has me confused) Did the boat come from C-Dory after the takeover from Cape Cruiser, or is it from the original Cape Cruiser line.

Anyway, our friend who has been reluctant to post the issue on the site here has had a leak problem too, sounds like the same area. His boat went back to the dealer and then back to the factory and it has bees close to a month. Don't know if he will pipe in here, but I will for him. Wonder if there is an issue with any other Venture 23's leaking out there?

To answer your question all Cape cruisers from 06-07 were cape cruisers. Listing the boat on this site it only lists the venture 23 not the cape cruiser . The only difference is the gussied up interior with larger rear windows , also adding about 150lb'sI like the cape cruiser because it is the same as the cd-22 inside with the elec. shelf . You can llok up the photo's in the Duck folder. I believe C-Dory got the molds late 07 or 08. I've talked to Simplicity a cc-23 I believe he had leaks there also He traced it to the anchor locker which I rebedded the 5200 also rebedded the S/S railings leaks were coming in from there also . I think it's from the rub rails that seems the logical area . Also it could be condensation from 70degree water and 80degree outside temp.

Other then that this boat is unbelievable. Great for skinny water and good up to 3-4 footers . My other boat was a cd-22 Duck with a 90 hp. Suzuki . With a F-115 yamaha on the cc-23 I get the same economy about 4-5 mpg depending on what speed I cruise. Top speed about 34mph. I love the boat I've had 8 boats since coming to fl. in 1992 this is the best all around boat I've ever owned . I do hope that the leaks can be found it's a minor problem for me since the water stays in the cabinet

Jim,

Nice to get to chat with you this morning. Wish you the best with finding and plugging those leaks.

Keep us posted here with the progress,

Thanks,

Harvey (and others)

Brent & Dixie on Discovery and Lori and myself on the Lori Ann are planning to spend the winter in your neck of the woods (we are not cruising together but may join up from time to time.) I would enjoy spending time on the water with other FL Brats.

Let me know when your coming down .I'm retired but I do work as a Guest teacher from time to time . We would like to do the St.John's river system and also the fl keys . this winter . There are a few C-brats down here so we could probably get a few together for a mini cruise keep me posted Jim (Duckless) on Jennykatz

Steve Grover posted in another thread that he is planning to be in the FL Keys this winter as well. Any other Brats want to make it an extended CBGT? :smiled

So far so Good . We have fixed the leaks on the cc-23 .It rained very hard the other night . So far no leaks .We used 5200 on the anchor locker it seems that the wall of the anchor locker does not conform to the floor of the v-berth . Also we pulled up the S/S railings and put silicone under the skrews so far so good Harvey give a call JIm
