lazarette latch stop

Someone else with your style lazarette covers (which I envy, btw) may pipe in with an exact part reference, but if not, could you post a photo of what it is you are looking for? Maybe the one on the other side is intact?

Nothing like a good parts hunt, so I hate to miss out

I knew someone would ask for a photo, I don't take photo's so never asked for an album.

Maybe it would be okay for you to upload it to the Photos --> CBTech library in whatever section is for deck stuff? I'm actually not sure if just anyone can upload to that, because I've never tried, but there are lots of "detail shots" in those albums.

For example, here

http://www.c-brats.com/modules.php?set_ ... _album.php

It looks like any one of us could upload to there (?). I'm not sure if it's "cool" or not though. I guess if not it could always be deleted.

Just to orient my brain, how does this fit onto the hatch? Is there another part that fits on the hatch and this is on the boat? Or? I'm trying to picture how/where this would be oriented on those hatches. Do you have the ones that are a sort of trapezoid shape and like upside-down, molded fiberglass jelly roll pans? Does the the boat then have an upturned vertical lip/fin that the hatch fits over?

Sorry if I sound too demanding, but now I'm curious in addition to wanting to find it :D

I will try to explain.
There is an arm _______---- something like that. The long part is drilled & taped and screws onto a shaft that is connected to a handle mounted on the lid.
The arm has a set screw to prevent it from turning once it is adjusted.
The latch stop is mounted upside down on the gunnel.
The arm slide's over the long slope and into the notch.
There is built in flex in the plastic latch stop.

Thanks, now I can envision it :thup

Makes me wish I had my Lewis catalog with me - always a good place to look. I did peruse a couple of sites but so far no dice. One place you might want to look (there is a lot of stuff, so you have to sift and hunt, but they do have good narrowing tools on the right) is Southco, which you can find here:

Type "rubber latch" into google. Then click the "Images" link right under the search bar.

See anything close? Anything that could be retrofitted?

Maybe not - but worth a shot.

I use the images thing a lot on google when I know what something should look like - it makes the searching MUCH faster.

Ray,
Thanks for that way of searching, I never paid attention to the words below the search line before.

I found a couple that the top part looked the same but the part I need was different.

I may have to make some changes.

 In looking at the google images I found out it is a Perko latch but have not so far been able to find the striker as they call it.

If it is available I know just the person at West marine that can get it for me.

Thanks everybody for your help.
