Do any of you guys keep your boats on Lake Union or Lake Washington. We have a 20 foot Whaler we'd like to keep on the lake this summer and are looking at what's available. Right now I'm leaning towards Seattle Boat Company on Lake Union (or at Newport, but I don't think that has been finished yet) since it is a dry stack facility, but am open to other suggestions. What's worked for other people?

Thanks for the help.

Stop over at the Newport Yacht Basin. There is a bulletin board which lists slips for rent and people who want to rent slips. Usually a one year lease is required. Sometimes, if people are going up to the San Juans for a protracted period they will sublease for a short time. Although most slips there are owned privately, there is a company that does own several and has several for lease (on a yearly basis) and some for sale. Their name and number is poste onthe fence. Just today I saw a sign for a 30 foot uncovered slip for sale there for around $100,000. All of this is too rich for my blood, but I can usually scare up a relatively inexpensive sublease slip somewhere on Lake Washington for a couple months in late winter/early Spring. Right now I am in a 20 foot slip there that I got for March and April for $300 total plus $50 refundable key deposit. Next week Lizzie will be back in the driveway. Another place to look is the Lakewood Marina, 4500 Lake Washington Blvd So, Seattle. They also post subleases near the door to the marina office. In 2008 we got a cheap late winter sublease and had lots of fun out of there. It's a city of Seattle marina, well run and nice facility. Keep checking Craigs list. Post a "moorage Wanted" listing with a picture of your boat. One year we got a nice dock at a private house on Sammamish Slough in Kenmore, right off the Burke Gilman Trail. Sometimes I rode my bike along the trail from Redmond to Kenmore.
Here's a listing on Craigslist
