LaConner!

OK, lifelong residents of Washington State, and believe it or not, this weekend was our first visit to LaConner. Cruised up from Everett on Saturday about noon, left Monday also about noon, about a two and a half hour cruise each way. Our 37th anniversary, and we stayed in a wonderful waterfront condo about 15 feet away from the most photographed vessel in LaConner - the Patricia Anne, a great old tug. David and Kate came over from Guemes Saturday afternoon and we had a fine dinner at the Seafood and Prime Rib House, just one building away. We used the condo owner's slip, right next to Patricia Anne! Great restaurants, great shops, very historic - all in all, a place not to be missed! Here is a shot (Daydream on the right!)

And another - the bridge:

We love Laconner, have stayed a few anniversarys there ourselves. We saw you pull out in Everett, Monday but it was very hectic so we had to go. Happy Anniversary :cocktail :love :rose

My wife and I picked up our boat, CD22, Baboo's Boat, in early Summer at EQ Marine. We spent two days cruising the San Juans and our last trip was to LaConner. If I ever leave Alaska (which is not probable in the near future) LaConner is one of the places I would consider moving. I really like their attitude about prohibiting chain businesses. I wonder if WalMart knows this - would drive them crazy!
