Anybody out there using kodiak brakes with the kodiak prolube oil bath hubs on their ez loader trailer? Looks like you could get better brakes from kodiak for less than the ez loader stock replacement.

Karl, we have the Kodiak Brakes with their oil bath hubs and are very happy with them. After six years of towing including some long (1,000's of miles) trips I noticed substantial corrosion around the brake fluid lines from the actuator to the brakes and replaced the rigid lines with Tie Down brand flexible lines. I also replaced the rotors and calipers, probably didn't really need to but there was so much rust I just went whole hog. One quirky thing I learned in the process is that on my trailer (2006 EZ Loader), the brakes are by Kodiak and the wheel spindles are by Reliable. That means that there is a small (.001) difference in size you need to take into account at the rear seal. Kodiak has great customer service and I would not hesitate to buy from them again.
 
Thanks for the info Barry. Do the tie down flexible brake lines come in lots of different lengths? Our lines have a fair amount of rust as well.

I think I'll give the kodiak brakes a go and put what I save toward an electric over hydraulic actuator kit.

I'm using Kodiak with oil bath hubs. Just did a complete brake, bearing & seal job not to long ago. If you are going to do a brake job check 6 Robblees in Tacoma, They had all the parts and they were less than EZ Loader.

I ordered the tie down parts based on my specific trailer. They sent me the right length hoses. They are not exact, usually a little longer than the bare minimum and that gave me enough room to run them without tight bends, etc. You might check Kodiak to see if they have a recommendation.

Barry, thanks for the info on the lines. I think I've found a kit online that should do the trick.
