Knoxville Trip

We had such a good time last year going up the Tenn-Tom to Nashville and back that this year we are planning a trip to Knoxville and back. I have a few questions about the Vol Navy. We have been looking at going to a football game while in Knoxville. I know you can raftup downtown but how about riding the bus from one of the marinas to the stadium? Looks like a bus goes to Farragut near Concord Marina. We are planning to rent a car and go to the mountains after the game. Also looking for info on great stops and bad stops. Planning to depart last of September and return around Thanksgiving

Brenda and I cruised from Pickwick Landing State Park to Knoxville TN in April 2011 (see Grand Adventures). Volunteer Marine is a short walk from The Marriott and we found transportation easy. Seems like the stadium is within sight of the Marriott.
