Recently, I took a class offered by the University of Alaska called" Business Planning and Management for Entry Level Fishermen." It didn't have the best advertisement so only a very few of us showed up. Greg had come down from Juneau to give this class and looked a little down because of our thin numbers, but perked up when an old highliner from Wrangel showed up telling him he flew down just for this course. Greg got a fire going inside himself and preached some hot gospel to the empty room, save us few poor souls. I mean he left no stone unturned! I have to admit that the course was well worth the time I spent instead of working on my boat. When Greg was done, he went up to the old salt who had added so much to the class just by his knowledge and past experience. "How did I do?" he asked Walter as we packed up the stack of handouts he had given us. Walter looked at our teacher Greg for a moment and smiled. "Well, its sort of like this, my brother is a cowboy in Idaho and he tells me that when only one cow shows up at feeding time, he doesn't dump the whole load of hay." Might be good words to reflect on.
