hey i just joined c-brats, which means i also just bought a c-dory, its a 1981 22' angler, ending my 5 year search for one i could afford, its in great shape despite the fact that its been sitting in brackish water for 10 years, other than some transom rot, it just needs a lot of clean up, not bad for only $3,500. First thing on the list is replacing the rotted part of the transom, ive done this on a boat before but would be interested in hearing from someone whose done it on a c-dory, the box attached to the transom, has anyone changed the shape of it to fit a specific fuel cell, i want something in the 25-35 gallon range, any ideas, other things ill be in the market for... canvasses, diesel walles heater, rocket launcher, more to come, good to finally be a part of the group, as ive been peeking in on the site for the last few years...

Hey Kevin, Welcome to the C-Brats and congratulations on the new (to you) boat. Anything you want to tackle, there's a Brat here that has done it already. You'll find all the help and advice you can stand! Good luck!

Hey Kevin! Congratulations on your find. Best wishes for your refurbishing and the use of the boat. Those older C-Dories are "tough as old boots". Mike.

thanks for the pics, tomorow im cutting out the box to get better acess to the inboard side of the transom, and will start pulling out the wet core, do you know what the "new transom" material was...

Kevin,

Welcome and Congratulations. You not only bought a fine boat, you got a really cool "family" as an added value package. Hope we get to cross wakes real soon.
