It's finally happening

Yup...the lovely Dana and I are finally just about free. I'd call it retirement, but that's not 100% accurate...we're still on the books until our vacation days run out.

And, CA is giving us one last little kick in the you-know-what. This is our view out the window as we pack up the house, getting ready for the moving truck that arrives tomorrow morning. What a timely reminder of something we won't miss in the least. I mean, COME ON...it's still April!

Plans are to be on the road Monday morning. Get ready WA...we're coming whether you like it or not.

Congrats! The retirement thing is really nice. I still work part time but I take three month chunks of time not working. Today in Bellingham it is sunny and 62 degrees. More of the same is forecast for tomorrow and we'll be taking the tomcat out.

Regarding "It's finally happening", I hesitate to use the term "final" at this stage. It's a great and happy transition, kind of like moving from a 25 to a 16 (are my biases showing?). You can slow down, but trust me, time will speed up. You're now one of us, legitimately bald and with a beard. Not like that other guy. Welcome home.

Congrats! I've been watching the weather in WA... for sure, it will be cooler. 8) Enjoy your new "schedule"! :thup :thup

Best wishes,
Jim

About time! It's been beautiful here this week. Give us a call if you need anything. You probably won't since your dad will insist on going to the Cornerhouse for breakfast as soon as you get here. :D

Right On neighbor! Congrats. Anything you need when you arrive, I'm available. PM me. Halibut season opens May 3. You'll love retirement :thup

CONGRATS :) man these have to be exciting times for you, I know you're been plotting this for several years....if you get weary on your northern migration route, our door is open

Congrats Bill

We flew out of Sacramento since we heard it was going to be hot. We are sitting at our Camano Island house and spent the day in Bellingham test driving Cutwaters. 2 more years and we move and we will permanently move north also.

It's finally happening and we're so-o-o excited for all of you.....we know the four legged critters are just as happy as you are...

Many hugs, always! And welcome to Washington :D

Hey Bill,

Welcome home to the Peninsula. You're going to love it up here. We had summer today, and it is staying over for the rest of the weekend too :hot Might get up to high 60's. Congrats on the new life, I'm betting you will make the adjustment with considerable ease. Best wishes and travel safe.

Thanks for all the well wishes, but I guess none of you got the hint.

This truck ain't gonna load itself.

Bill, I got it but I am on the wrong end. I actually enjoy loading a moving truck. It is really the ONLY type of puzzle that I do, and if I say so myself, am pretty good at it. Well over a hundred rigs loaded over time. No Breakage. Would be glad to help if I could, on this end. (Hint- unloading goes pretty quick if the "go to rooms" are marked on the boxes.) Also, a couple of high school or com college guys will make it much easier on your back and they usually work for pizza and drinks.

BTW, We have summer here again today

Oh, man, if only we were going to be there... I would SO help carry the heavy stuff. 8) Um, you are going to have it all unloaded by the time we get to WA in mid-May, aren't you?

Getting away is great. Moving all your stuff to do it - not so much. Hope the move goes smooth and easy. On the really bright side, you aren't on a schedule! :D

Best wishes,
Jim

I'd love to help, but, well, I gotta still work.

I'd love to retire, but I would end up living in a discarded outboard box. Although the boxes for the Evinrude 250s are quite roomey, and reinforced...
