Hi everyone,

Totally by accident and with very little notice I find myself working in Seattle this week AND with tomorrow and Saturday morning "off" before I leave Saturday afternoon.

Now for my question. After lurking (and hanging out with some of you at the Chesapeake Bay gatehring a couple of years ago) Sioux and I think with our current situation it looks like the 16' Angler will work the best for us.

So IF anyone is going to be working or playing on their 16' Angler either tomorrow (Tuesday, April 29) or on this Saturday morning could I stop by and take photos and some measurements? Let me stress given the short notice I don't expect anyone to change their schedule or any special treatment.

Thank you in advance,
Steve Toburen

PS I called the people at Lake Union Sea Ray and they don't have a 16' Angler in stock. Then I talked to them at the C-Dory factory and they said they have one on the floor but it is in production and may not have the interior in and that is what I am interested in. (After reading how the Anderson's are using their 16' for camping we are fascinated by taking out some of the bulkhead and sleeping with our feet toward the bow, therefore still allowing some cockpit space for me to move around while Sioux "sleeps in".)

Steve - sorry not to be able to help, we did meet at the Chesapeake gathering in 2005 I think. On Saturday morning, we will be launching at Zittel's Marina in Olympia for the Jarrell Cove CBGT, otherwise I would have been glad to hook up. Hope somebody comes through for you!

Saturday afternoon sounds like a good tome to call in sick for that outbound SeaTac flight, hook a ride to Olympia and come up top Jarrell's Cove State Park. There will be a bunch of C-Dorys there, might even be a 16, and for sure you can get a ride on something. SleepyC's a 22 Cruiser and we would be happy to get you out for a spin. Remember, It's not to change your plans until you do them. Come on down. Check out the "Jarrell Cove CBGT (C-Brat Get Together), Link is on the home page.

I would be down to Jarrell's Cove in a heartbeat, Harvey, except that Sioux's dad is in hospice and may not even be alive when I get back Saturday night. But thanks for asking me to come along.

Steve

PS Sioux and I had a very memorable afternoon on the Chesapeake with Bill and El and we love the 22. But since our chances of any extended cruising are minimal until after we are done caregiving her parents it seems a 16 might be more practical for our day trip/ maybe overnight schedule. (Tow vehicles, etc.)

Steve, I understand the practicalities of size. My wife and I spent several years spending weekends and some weeks at a time on a 15ft Montgomery sailboat. That was backpack sailing and camping. Great memories and deffinately lighter towing. Somehow we got older, slower and less agile.

This post is somewhat delayed, a do hope your family is all OK.
