Is this the right seat configeration for a 2007 CD 16'?

No, that would not be the correct configuration for a CD16.

But I believe the picture is from your CD19 Angler, Game On?

Consequently, I am not really sure what you are asking...

John

Seats in a CD 19' are not configured like this either.

So what are you actually asking when you ask "Is this the right seat configuration for a 2007 CD 16'? "

E.g. are you asking if this is a good overall plan for a CD 16 or are you asking if this was ever done by the factory?

I am considering buying this boat and only have pictures to go by, the boat is 1233 miles away from me so can't see it first hand.

Since I’ve have never seen a seat set up like this, I want to know, as my original question said “Is this the right seat configuration for a 2007 CD 16'? “

If this is/was not an option I have little interest in something potentially cobbled.

Ron Fisher

It wasn't done that way by the factory but it could be quality work by the owner. It looks like a nice way to make use of a 16 angler to me. I can't see having 4 people on board for anything but a short trip in calm waters. However, I can see an interest in a couple being able to be seated either forward or reverse. Also, I've seen some seats of similar design that fold flat allowing one to lay down. I don't know if these seats do that but I wouldn't mind having a 16 equipped in such a way (assuming the owner did good work).

Ok Bill,

Was this ever a factory option for a CD 16'?

I don't believe it is original, but I once had that style seat in a bow-rider and it allowed the wife and I to have a place to sleep.

Those style seats lay down fully into a kind of cot/bed. Interesting mod if sleeping on a 16 Angler is your desire.

Looks like a replacement seat to me, like THIS ONE Not cheap either but if done properly, could be a good thing if that rear seat wouldn't get in the way on a little boat like a 16 (no slight intended).

No. This was not a factory option. If you look closely at the first image you referenced, you can see that the seat base has been cut to match the raised floor section under the hardtop.

It may be a very well done modification, it may be professionally done. No way of knowing by the picture.

Those types of seats are used by boat manufacturers all over the industry, particularly for runabouts and pontoon boats.

They are a standard, easy to use, right out of the catalogue, everyday choice without having to have custom seats made.

And how about that steering wheel? Zowie! Right from Barnacle Bill's Boat! Should be on a 30+ foot trawler, at least!

Joe. :teeth :thup
