Probably not. Although there were a few issues during the 2002 thru 2006
era they were not structural. Most minor systems issues would have been fixed by previous owners.
.

We have a 2005, and there have been no significant issues at all. Very few minor ones. I think the biggest thing to consider is how the boat has been treated over its lifetime. Just do a good inspection, have a survey done that ensures there is no water intrusion into any of the balsa coring (from owner improvements), check the engine maintenance, and go for it if you feel the price meets the condition of the boat.

These things are pretty simple boats.

I would say the newer the better BUT more importantly a covered trailer boat with would be better than one that has spent it's life uncovered and moored.

Balsa core water intrusion is more likely to occur from factory kacj if understanding than by knowledgable owners. The factory (to my knowledge) has never put epoxy sealant around any screw holes. The 2006 boats have cleates glassed in to held the lower part of the fuel tanks in place--some earlier ones had screws into the floor, with a dab of sealant. Same for the "l" brackets holding all furniture in the boat. These shold be rectified by a good owner. Alao deck hardware needs to be sealed and properly embeded...but it not done at therfactory. Generally 2006 is better than 2003. But not a thing wrong with the boats built in the 80's and 90's.
