I just got an IPAD Pro and loaded Navionics charting software. I can not get the chart to display fully on the screen. Is this normal or am I missing something.

Thanks

No Fred, not normal. I have been trying to find an answer to your problem but have found nothing. I suggest you contact Navionics support. If you go to MENU then to the bottom to HELP, there is info but i didn’t come up with anything about the full display. Could it be an IPAD setting? Loving Navionics on this Alaska trip.

Did you buy the charts? I bought charts about a year ago (they used to be good for ever.)...now the charts are gone--just the base map--and I think they have gone up on price.

Due to this, I have gone to alternate charting--even though my current chart plotters have avionics.

Is it possible that Robbin sabotaged it? I have read on the dark web that the evil Microsoft had experimented with some weird brain programming on their early employees to cause them to bust any iStuff they see.

I just checked my iPad Pro and got this partial screen view. I can't make it full screen either.

I bought Navionics a long time back for my early iPhone but found when I tried to put it on the ipad later that the charts I had paid something like fifty bucks to buy would no longer work and I wasn't about to buy the new versions from them. I use the Garmin nav program since I have Garmin chart plotters that still work great. It goes full screen. Lois likes to use the iPad to watch where we're going and it's handy for us to be looking at the same things. She used it a lot in the SJs last year.

There are several versions of the Navionic app in the Apple store. The HD versions are for the iPad. That is about all I know about it.

Good luck!

Fred, I can't help you with why it won't go to full screen, but can say it's my favorite of all my electronic charts for navigation. I up loaded it on my old IPad 2, when it first came out for around $50, but if I remember correctly, I also payed for the extras such as auto routing & others. When I bought the IPad Pro, I put Navionics on it off there share device program too at no cost. Last spring my iPad 2 had a glitch & I had to reload everything including Navionics. It loaded just fine along with all the maps & works just like the pro, only slower. I love the simple way to auto route a destination, the tracks recording & the tides & currents information is also intuitive with locations wanted to see quick & easy. The present problem for me & one I can live with, is it can't be updated without switching to the now annual fee system. It does quite often ask me do update, which I ignore. I prefer it to the Garmin app & my other plotters are Garmin. I like it enough, that if or when it will no longer work as it does now for me, I will go to the yearly annual fee to retain its it's use.

On the road for navigation, I've been using Garmin's Navigon App on the IPad. I really like it, but now, I recieved notification from Garmin, that it is being discontinued & will only work for 2 more years with no ability to update during them.

Since Garmin now owns Navionics, I can see them phasing out anything from the past. Never was a fan of Garmin charting products. Even less so now. It's all about money.

Thanks for all the help. I have tried everything we can think of. I purchased the app about a week ago and downloaded the maps at the same time. It started full screen but then all of a sudden it is now like the screen shot Tyboo posted. We tried Navionics tech support, they said it was a glitch that will resolve itself. I am sure it is an Apple issue but I am not an Apple person.
Mike, Robbin wishes she was that powerful.
