Hi guys planning on installing down rigger on 22 angler can't seem to get deep enough trolling for salmon. please share your expertise on mounting bracket for scotty thankyou very much.....

I've got two manual down riggers that I just mounted in each side of my CD-22 on the gunnels half way back. Just used a backing plate. The riggers slide off the base plates. I'll have to see if any of my album photos show the base plates. (Only one photo and it's hard to see them. I'll try to get a photo later.)

I have downriggers on both sides of the boat, set where I can use two rods for each downrigger.

This is pretty much the same spot I have mine mounted as well.

Sorry to divert discussion, but love the location of the bait tank. I see it is attached to lip of splash well on the cockpit side. What kind of support is used on motor side?
Also what is the size of the tank?

I had a stainless mount made with a post mounted to the engine well.
This is a 13 gal tank. This is on my old boat- Fishtales.
I have a 10 gal tank mounted on C-Hawk with an aluminum mounting plate that will also hold an ice chest if we are just cruising.

I used a backing plate of 3/4" plywood and through bolted with large washers. I strongly recommend swivel mounts, they're far easier and safer than the fixed mounts.

Here's how I mounted my Canon downriggers. I did have Scotty manuals mounted in the same spot. That's a piece of mahogany for the base...

For a backing plate, I use starboard or you could use a piece of vinyl lumber available at Home Depot so there is no rotting of wood. I second the use of stainless steel hardware with fender washers. Mine are mounted just forward of the gas fill on either side. I have a 2000.
I have seen later models mounted next to the after cleat. I have a Scotty drs.

ours are mounted the same as above pictures we used starboard( if you don't have any dollar store plastic cutting boards work well, or walmart) we have scotty on swivel bases stainless hardware including fender washers.
I too like the bait tank set up, how does the boat move when Its full? I would just be concerned about too much weight on stern as we have both batteries back there fuel and 2 motors. would be nice to have a live bait tank tho.
