Insideous Sixteenitis: No Known Cure

It's struck again. The cute little critter's grabbed another Brat by the collar and just reeled him in. Already ensnared Da Nerd and Big Jon a few months ago. And that silly Cat Guy's been rolling in the 16-nip since '89.

Got a call this morning to come down to Coulon Beach in Renton to "see my new boat." Well, this Cat wasn't born yesterday. Figured that meant he'd bought a kyak or rubber type toy at the small boat festival. Besides, this couple already has a beautiful new C-Dory.

Cool, another 16 footer. Eventually you'll all come down to my level.

Come on folks, jump in - the water's great!

Catman must not have been sworn to secrecy like I was...but something tells me the "mystery owners" will soon surface.

I gotta admit...having spent time in 16's, 19's, 22's, 25's and the old TomCat, the 16 is my favorite of the bunch. Of course, those of you staring at our logo for the last couple years probably figured that out by now...

It's a boat that just gets me giddy every time I get in one. I can't explain why, and I ain't even gonna try...I'm just going to accept it, and be thankful I'm "in the club".

Da Nerd, as a fellow Clubster, I read your post with my hand on my heart, my eyes cast skyward.

But more importantly, tell me you didn't know before I did.

Hmmm - people who have previously used Coulon ramp enough before to have posted about it can be found by searching.
The Brat map can be used to narrow things down to people who likely live either south or east of Seattle.
But WHO is prone to boat impulse buys?
That's my guess.

We should start a pool.

OK I fess up. Robbin and I have been looking for a 16 Angler for awhile. We live in Shoreline but keep our boat in Anacortes. We have missed boating in the Seattle area but did not want to tow the 25 just to go site seeing on Lake Washington. So we were waiting for the right deal to surface. That happened about two months ago but a certain unnamed group of hackers beat us to the punch.
Well yesterday a post on craigslist popped up for a very nice Angler in Olympia. We were able to make the deal and now are owners of an orange 1987 16' Angler. I will post some pictures soon.
It was nice of Brock to come down and wish us well on her maiden cruise.

Fred

Geez Fred, some secret! I locked myself out of the house so I wouldn't be tempted to post pictures :photo of the new addition to the C-Brat family. Do you know how hot it was today? :hot Thanks :cat for letting me come in out of the heat.

Fred and Robbin, nice boat. :D

Roger, Like your post.

Well, don't let my wife know but I was wrong. Nice looking 16 Fred. I'm sure it'll look even better after you put some Fred workmanship and ideas into her.

Robbi, I was thinking that the Ranger's gonna need a tender...

The 16 is a total blast to drive. I even docked it the first try, and I'd never docked a boat before. OK, the water was calm and Fred was giving me move-by-move directions.

But still... It's so funny, this is our fourth C-Dory and in some ways I'm more excited about it than the 25'.

Some people (I'll let you guess who) said we should name it Herman. But it's nice to have a Little Buddy back in the driveway.

Fred & Robbin, congratulations on the acquisition of "Little Buddy"! We must have caught the same bug because Caryn and I discussed (albeit briefly) the thought of purchasing a 16' angler for use down around these parts (Seattle) and leaving C-Dancer to cruise the San Juans and the Gulf Islands. Maybe someday. In any case, she's a beauty, we know you'll have lots of fun with her.

After trailering & cruising my 16' cruiser to and thru aprox. 40 states in the past three years, I realized that I probably wouldn't have done nearly as much if I had a bigger boat. The easy trailering, unloading, loading and storing is hard to beat. Not to mention the economic aspects.

An old Cape Cod gentleman told me about 50 years ago, "that the older you get the less boat you need, although, you are never too young or too old for a boat". At the time he was about 89 yrs old and was sailing daily in a 1921- 18' Cat Boat.---------------------Rich

Boy, am I ever relieved to learn IT WASN'T ME!!! Your logic was impeccable of course.
