Importing Boats and Trailers into Canada

Canadians looking to buy US C-Dory Boats
I just finished importing a C-Dory from the USA and completed licensing the trailer and boat. There is a bit of paper to shuffle but nothing that an average Canuck cannot handle. Be sure to obtain a bill of sale, titles and a letter from the trailer manufacturer stating there are no outstanding recalls on the trailer and that the trailer meets US safety standards. For those folks buying a C-Dory in the USA and bringing it back to Canada here is a very helpful and informative website; WWW.RIV.CA.

wapiti,

That website did not work for me??????

Thanks for the effort though.

I occasionally bring boats and RV's from the USA through Canada and into Alaska. So far no problem.

Hello Jack;
Were you unable to get on the website or did you mean the website was of no help to you? It would only be helpful if you were a Cannuck bringing boats and RVs to Canada. Do you pass thru Alberta on your way down to the motherland? I'm out in the country near Edmonton. Maybe we can visit some day if you pass by our way.
Cheers!

wapiti,

It will not load up. gives me an error signal.

We usually go up either the Frazer River Canyon or the Okanagan valley but we have been up your way 3 or 4 times. I had an old high school friend from Wisc. that was a professor at the University in Edmonton so we stopped and visited. Usually stayed at the Glowing Embers RV Park in NW Edmonton towards Stony Plain.
We have made 31 round trips over the Alaska Hyw. over the years including 7 to Mexico so have tried many different routes.

Jack.

Thanks Dave;
Your right the website should be; www.riv.ca Sorry about that.
Jack I'm in the SE just out Edmonton at the end of the Whitemud Freeway and have lots of room to park an RV.
