Ideas for removing 3M4200 from Sunbrella seat cushion

I ended up with some cured 4200 on my first mate seat. I tried hot water, and acetone with toothbrush and nothing worked. Acetone works great on the hard surfaces but the soft material would not release it.

Suggestions short of having my seat re-covered with Sunbrella?

Try WD-40. I bought some 5200 and asked what they used to clean that stuff up and I found out WD-40 works as good or better at cleaning up as the 14 dollar miniture spray can they sell at W.M. for 5200 clean up.

Try "Goof Off"!

Crazy name, but it works!

You can get it at any home improvement store.
 
I did the same thing last year. 4200 still on the seat. I watch with interest what works.
 
Didn't she get mad when you tied to glue her to the seat?

Flash freeze with a burst of co2.
 
Well Matt, I think you've got plenty of suggesgtions. To combine a few of them, you could put a little gasoline on it, light it to soften it and release it, then flash freeze it with CO2. :mrgreen:

Following that, you could recover the cushion and apologize to your wife...
