Nice write-up and great photos. Iceland is one of the places I have always wanted to go to. Like the idea of the hydro thermal energy too.

I couldn't help but think after the volcano eruption and the halting of flights over most of Europe and the Atlantic because of microscopic debris suspended in the air that an event like this is good at reflecting the suns rays and thus reducing the amount of heat that is absorbed by the planet.

If my line of reasoning is correct, maybe we should hope for a few more of these types of events in the oncoming years.
