hydro-force at costco

My son bought one of those for his 25 a few weeks ago. Their Costco (San Juan in S. Calif.) sold out in a few days. One of the other boat owners on the gangway he is on, bought one also.

Despite what the ad says, you don't want to leave these out in the sunlight or fully inflated in the heat. PVC is not all that durable in UV light, and the fabric is a little lighter than some of the more expensive boats.

I think these are good buys--lets see how they hold up. Clean them well after use, to get any sand and salt out, and store them in the bag. Or store them under a cover, slightly deflated on the boat.

I'll probably get a chance to use his dinghy at Catalina, and will power it with the Torqeedo 1003 electric motor. I believe he has a 9.9 hp outboard. (too heavy for me).

Thataway - - I was considering a Torqueedo 1003 for a small (14') lightweight boat to putter around a lake and also to use on our old canoe for the nephews. What's been your experience with these motors? They ain't cheap but do seem to be well designed and built.
