How long will Stabil last?

Long time. I have had containers in use for over a year, still worked. No issues with my gasoline. Can not think of what would go bad unless you left it sitting out, opened, and the vehicle evaporated.

Unopened, shelf life must be 5 years at least.

I have used the Blue Marine Stabil for up to 6 months after I purchased it and it seems like it works. I have had the boat sit for (one year) almost 8 months between running then winterizing and when I started it in May for the Friday Harbor trip. That is the longest it has set. Sorry, I do not know how long I had the Stabil before I put it in for that storage session.

From the Golden Eagle web site: (Stabil mfg)

"Q: What is the shelf life of STA-BIL® Fuel Stabilizer?
A: The shelf life of all STA-BIL® brand products is 2 years after the bottle has been opened, provided it has been tightly capped and stored in a cool, dry place. If the product has not yet been opened, you should use the color of the fluid as an indicator. If the product is still bright red, it is fine to use. If the product has turned to av ery dark red (or brown) color, we recommend purchasing a new bottle. It will not harm anything if you use an old bottle of STA-BIL® brand, it just may not be as effective.

I've been told by several marina service departments, 2 years on Sta-Bil, when opened in the bottle or mixed with gasoline. Further, one may used 2X the recommended amount of Sta-Bil in gas without consequences in the engine. This happened accidently to me by the marina dosing the fuel after I had done so 'prepping' for winter storage.

Aye.

I add Stabil to my Stabil. I assume that will double its shelf life.

Roger, does that double the concentration/strength. that's a really good idea because then you would only need to use half as much, and so it would be twice as cheap

Always love to learn new stuff here
