Due to limited finances and work vans that were 2-wheel drive we did with what we owned. After backing off the end of a ramp and needing the tow truck I started carrying a nylon tow strap about 20 feet long. It is still in it's original wrapper. I guess we learned our lesson.
We did have our problems with slippery ramps at low tide, but several times we asked large watchers to get in the back of the van. The extra weight always did the trick. We did tow our CD-22 with a Jeep Grand with 4-wheel drive and the ramps were no problem.
