OK, admittedly this has very little to do with boating (there will be a marginal connection at the end), and it will no doubt mean more to folks who have been around Seattle for a while than most of you. This morning we dedicated a wonderful park in Snoqualmie called Snoqualmie Point View Park. It is at Exit 27 on I-90, and I hope all of you will visit some day. It is simply the crown jewel of the Mountains to Sound Greenway. This park has been a cooperative effort among Mountains to Sound Greenway, the U.S. Forest Service, Washington State DNR and the City of Snoqualmie. I have been involved since the beginning for the City and have been honored and privileged to work elbow to elbow with Jim Ellis in making this park happen. The speakers this morning included Bill Gates, Sr., former Senator Slade Gorton and Jim among others. Here is a little about about Jim Ellis and some of his accomplishments. He is just one of my heroes.

The boating connection, if you read the bio, is that Jim led the effort to clean up Lake Washington in the 1950s so we are not boating in sewage...at 86 the man is still Seattle's First Citizen by me and simply amazing...

Great story Pat and good job for your contributions to making our area a little nicer (both with the park and good local beer).

Congrats Pat. Sure doing your part to keep our surroundings beautiful and available. Thanks.

Yes :thup Very good job Pat.

Read the bio on Jim Ellis. You were indeed honored and privileged to work with Him.
