We went on May 8th up in Whittier, AK and did pretty good. 170 after a 5 hour soak. Our pot limit went down to 3 per boat this year, last year we were allowed 4. How do the limits work in WA? Is it an amount per person? Looks like you guys did really well!

We have an 80 per person limit and a 2 pot per person limit with a limit of 4 pots on the boat

4 limits, threw back about 1.5 more limits. Going Wednesday.
NOTICE: Did you all notice that the Saturday 25th shrimp day has been changed to June 1st also a Saturday!

What marine area is the June 1st opener? I cant find it

June 1st is not the opener, it's the closer. It's the last day of shrimping in Area 12.

On 5/12 I went to a new-to-me shrimp ground in Marine Area 7 South. I didn't do well. I was alone and only got 1/2 limit in 2 pots. Could have been me; could have been the location; I don't know. Disappointing. Probably go to one of my tried and true spots next weekend.

We went out of Whittier on Saturday 5/11and did pretty well. we soaked our 3 pots for about 4 hours and pulled about 2a gallon and a half. We moved to a different location for the night and soaked the pots for about 13 hours and pulled out about the same amount. Great weekend

80 per person, per day. Open dates dependent on area. Max of two pots per person, no more than four pots per boat.

I've been doing better lately. If I go to a spot I where I've done well in past years, I seem to do OK. Not much luck with new spots though. It does seem to me to be more hit and miss than previous years, but who knows.

We hit it on Thursday, 7 west. Dropped about a half hour prior to low. Limited on three drops of two pots. Enough for the two of us for a year. 8) There were only a few other boats out, so the pressure was lessened.

I assume most have heard that the WDFW has reopened marine areas 7-east and 7-south to shrimping on 6/26 and 6/27.

Best of all, THIS time the tides are PERFECT
