Hooping in SoCal

We had a tight schedule this weekend with school activities, no diving for us. So decided to give our hoop nets a little workout at the Channel Islands Marina breakwater to go after those elusive lobsters. In 2 1/2 yrs of hooping hadn't caught a single lobster, legal or otherwise. This trip continued the streak! BUT, we finally did catch something edible!

These are Rock Crab, may not be special to many of you, but to us it was a real breakthrough! Hmmm, maybe we'll dive for lobster and hoop for crabs...sounds like a plan.

Hey way to go Steve!

I was over at Anacapa on Friday and thought I should try snorkeling for the bugs. I was with some friends, so maybe next time.

Hi Ron, thanks. Maybe this coming Saturday might work out to do a little bug hunting, not sure though with all the activities going on around here lately. Roger, are you going out again anytime soon? Carpenteria, Santa Cruz, Anacapa, Palos Verdes?

Just got in from pig hunting- saw several pigs, got a small one.
Thinking about trying Saturday for a sunset dive, not sure where. Maybe up the coast by Carpinteria Reef, weather permitting.
