honda service recommendations seattle area

Our 2006 Honda 90 hp outboard has some serious ethanol related problems. It was squirting gas out of the cowling and running very rough when we tried to start it 3 weeks ago. We are NOT mechanical, so took it in to a local shop in Des Moines, Wa. They had it for 3 weeks, cleaned the carbs etc, and said it was still running rough, they couldn't find the problem (maybe a sticking valve?) Had lots of gunk everywhere and our gas in the tanks smelled and looked "bad." We filled the tanks in Nov with Chevron gas, used the blue Stabil. The motor had issues with stalling at low rpms while trying to get up on plane, then did fine at higher rpms. We were told we probably had clogged fine jets in the carbs. Tried Seafoam to see if that would help, and it seemed better (before putting away for the winter). This is sounding scary-bad now. I contacted King Salmon Marine in Tacome, Honda certified mechanics there. They have a 3 week wait list. Can anyone recommend a good Honda mechanic in the Seattle or surrounding areas? Does it sound like our engine is toast or maybe salvageable? We are having serious heartburn!!!

its a drive for you but i would call Les and cathy at E.Q. harbor service. Les post here a lot and has sold c-dorys for years and is a honda dealer. heres his linkhttp://www.eqmarine.com/

I have also heard nothing but good things about this guy in Monroe. not sure if hes warranty or not for hondas but is very well respected in this area.

We are set up at EQ Marine in Oak Harbor next Saturday. Les sounded reassuring, "sees this all the time."

We took our 2006 Honda 90 in for service at EQ Marine on Sat, 7/2 at 0900, and it was fixed and ready to go by 1500! The carbs were cleaned and resynched, and we were instructed on how to remove the fuel line to bleed out fuel before storing, and how to drain the carbs before wintering.
We also were advised to add Sea Foam at double the recommended "dose" and run 2 tanks through to further improve performance, then use blue Stabil per directions with each tank (all the prevent future ethanol caused clogging of the carb jets).
We were delighted to have the engine running again for a reasonable fee, and to not have to make another 2 hour trip to pick it up (who really expects same day marine service?!!)
Very pleased with our experience with EQ Marine.

EQ just fixed our BF -135 which had an ECM failure while in Powell River. The dealer up there charged me $95.- for an hour of mis-diagnosis but EQ had it diagnosed within 30 minutes, parts in 2 days and fixed 1 hour later all under warranty, and with a big smile. Cost me the best part of a Boat Unit to get the boat back to them but that's how good they are.
