Honda 50 alternator solution?

Is there any way to upgrade the anemic performance of the 10 amp alternator? I note that the new 50 EFI models have a 22 amp alternator while the 75 EFI puts out 44 amps.
 
I was wondering the same thing about my 2006 Honda 90. The alternator only produces 16 amps, and my DC loads can exceed this at times.
