Jim – I have a 2001 BF40A/50A Owner’s Manual. It is a PDF version. You can read it on your computer and print the pages you need to refer to when at the engine. It has 118 pages. I can email it to you. It is 3.18meg in size so you will need an email account that will allow that size of a download.

If it doesnt get here by next week I will take you up on offers thanks again A friend needed the honda 130 and I needed the honda 40 so for a few bucks each we have it to share .We got it apart I just need the book to put it back together next week or so .
I have an overheat alarm that keeps going off we took out lower unit and now we took out the powerhead trying to clean or remove foreign object in passageways ?? new water pump and thermostat . The engine purrs like a kitten and goes right up to 5500rpm and then a few min later the alarm comes on up to 3000-3500rpm no alarm so something is in there probably an impeller part or sand ,shells or who knows ???
