Honda 2hp vs Suzuki 2.5hp

Anyone have opinions about air cooled (Honda) vs water cooled (Suzuki)? On the surface, it seems the air cooled motor would be less maintenance, lighter, etc. But how does that work on a 100 degree day or if pushing a load at high RPM? I've read most of the past posts on motors for dinghys and have pretty much decided on one of these - unless there is new information out there. Thanks folks.

I will say this-

The Honda is a nice running engine. But one month last year we took three of the Honda's in trade on Suzuki 2.5 and 4 horse motors. The reason for the trade? Too loud.

And while some people love the centrifical clutch on the Honda, many people who trade them in offer it as a secondary reason for getting rid of the Honda. If you'd like to put along at idle and enjoy the day, the Honda won't do it.

Plus the Suzuki is less money.

I have owned both--Suzuki wins hands down for us. I hated the centrifical clutch on the Honda. The Suzuki has the neutral. The Suzuki is quieter and seems to have a bit more power.

I had a 2 hp Honda when we had the 25. As described, it was noisy and I didn't like the centrifical clutch. Worst of all when we were with the C-Brat group in Desolation Sound, Pat Anderson smoked me in the "Desolation Sound Dingy Race" with his 2.5 hp Tohatsu. I would buy the Suzuki or a Tohatsu/Nissan.
