My wife and I are in the midst of narrowing down our purchase decision and options we are going to include on our new C-Dory. Your site has been so helpful we just wanted to say thank you for the forum and all it's organization. Very precise..and clean. Who did you have host it by the way? I am a software developer and can think of many other practical uses for such a forum. This one is much cleaner than others. Thank you again for such a professional user's group.

Welcome to this site. Good luck in finding just the "right boat" for yourself.

A suggestion.............."Hello" provides no info on what your post is all about.
How about "Boat search" or "Excellent Site" or some variation. When looking at the list of new posts Hello doesn't provoke anyone's interest. Just a thought.

Again welcome and come back again.

Thank you all for the kind replies:

Sorry Jack will try to be more specific going forward, I figured since I was in the "site feedback forum" topic folks had that part figured out.

As an update to my post from yesterday the wife and I are setting our sites on the 23' venture. We sold the ole 98' Edwing yesterday, and although was tough to see the ole fishing machine head over the hill, we are looking forward to some luxury cruising time soon with Nelly our year old Sharpei.

Still having a tough time with finding a new Venture however, many dealers still sitting on new "07/08" stock.

Will keep you all posted!~

Am curious, what is different between the dealer stock and the current models? Keep in mind that Fluid Marine probably stopped building anything that their dealers had in stock, so there actually may not be any "09" Ventures out there. I would be surprised if Sea Sport was building them either. My guess is they are just building small numbers of 16s and 22s as those are the best sellers.

If the price is right I would look at an 07 or an 08 Most of the stuff that goes wrong is usually trailers ,engines or electronics and they have their own warranties .Just go have A Good survey done make sure there is no water intrusion with a good moisture meter. We bought a 06 cape cruiser Great boat, small problems but nothing big . As long as the balsa coring is sound in the flooring The transom should be foam cored and that should be good ,Maybe some of the dealers can chime in here .A very happy cc-23 venture customer

Hello Chanley & Kim,

I would encourage you to look seriously at the Ventures on the dealers' lots. Although they may not be '09 model year boats, you are not likely to locate any with a factory warranty. This is due to the recent sale of Fluid Marine to Seasport; Seasport probably hasn't ramped up production of the Ventures yet. Perhaps a dealer could chime in on the time line for availability of a Seasport-build Venture. The (lack of ) warranty issue is easily dealt with through the purchase of an aftermarket 'stem to stern' warranty. I'm no expert, but, again, I believe you would purchase the warranty at the time you are buying the new boat.

I can see why you like the Venture.

As far as I know there are few if any new 23Vs in the marketplace . Its a winner for sure . In your area I would give Matt at Kitsap a call . They are your closest dealer and are an active part of this group ,which says alot .
