Hello,
My name is Ben and I live in Fairbanks, Alaska. I have been lurking around in the back drop for about a month now and finally decided to join the group. I am betting that I have read a thousand posts new, old and have seen about every picture posted. What a wonderful and adventurous group of people much like myself.
I must admit over the years I have stopped over to Alaska Mining and Diving (A huge boat dealership in Anchorage) to pick up various items/parts for my river boat and have notice the C-Dorys there. For years I thought, "Man, those are remarkably ugly boats!" -Don't throw stones at me yet-. I've always seen them on the water in Seward, Homer, Valdez and Whittier....Then it "clicked" holy crap those are nice boats. After reading information from C-Dory and on this forum I'm sold on a Dory. I love that they are fuel effiecent for one and I'm able to beach it and have a great day with my wife on a beach where possible very few people have ever been and make more fishing memories with my young son.
No, I do not own a Dory yet. I have decided on a CD22 cruiser when that day comes.
It never hurts to make a few more friends with things in common...The outdoors, the love of life and fishing!
Ben
