Hello to all. I just wanted to try and join in. I bought a 2006 at SportCraft in Oregon City a couple days ago. Plan to get used to it (first power boat) on Fern Ridge in Eugene, Or. then off to Newport, Or.

Congradulations, and welcome aboard!

Let the C-Dory Journey Begin!

No turning back now!!!

How long have you been C-Dory hunting, er, fishing?

Joe.

Welcome Aboard... What kind did ya get? Not to worry...many of us after enjoying our boats all day/week find our average rate of travel was about 6.3 knots... Enjoy..

First looked at a C-Dory 22 at Seattle show 3(?) years ago. Then to get more info on powerboats I chartered a Devlin 29 footer out of Olympia, Wa. last summer. I really like Sam Devlin's boats. I came close to buying a Devlin 22 named Bunky, a "surf scoter" but it was $65K.

Edward,

Welcome to the Dory crowd. I don't think you'll encounter a finer group of folks that are willing to share their experiences, secret crusiing and fishing spots, and the nifty modifications to their Dorys. We are in Canby. Maybe we will see you on the water one of these days.

:D Welcome, we are new also. Just bought a 2004 CD 22 last week. Spent 2 hours on board in the driveway last night. Reading manuals, trying out the V-berth for size, checking it over from bow to stern. We are also new to power. I am familiar with Fern Ridge, lived in Eugene for 12 years. My husband did a LOT of research on boats prior to this purchase...I fell for it when I first saw one for real. We are now in the process of fitting out our truck to pull it. Good Luck, the C-Brats are really a nice group!

And congradulations to you, too, hardee!

I think we've all spent a few hours just sitting in the boat and trying everything out, trying to soak in the realitly of our new found toy! Lots 'o fun! My neighbors didn't appreciate the remote controlled spotlight wandering by in their windows at night, though! Enjoy the new baby!

Joe.

Congratulations edwardf! and hardee! We've been moored at Newport since May -- went over for a final fling fishing this morning at o-dark-thirty, pulled out of the slip and when we got into the bay, there were 2' wind waves! We ventured as far as Sawyers trying to see if it laid down further up river, but NOT -- so we turned around and headed for the dock -- pulled her out and drove home. Yes, the crabbing's been great...fishing (IMHO) is just getting started in the river. You're just in time! :wink
