Hello From Prague

I just got into Prague and within 10 mins have a high speed internet connection (hardwired within the room). Fri, I will be on a boat cruise and will be taking some picture of the locks and boats on the Charles River. I'll post some towards the end of the week. Not a C-Dory in site but we do have C-Brat representation in the Czech Republic! (at least for a week).

RB - That is too cool. I'm proud of you son - you really made good!

Pics by all means. Even if your aim takes you away from the water a bit, touristy photos are cool, too!

What are you teaching them guys over there? Czech biologists, indeed.

Thanks for the report so far.

I'm teaching a couse in data analysis for a group of biologists from all over Europe. It's one of many courses offered by the Federation of the European Biochemical Societies (FEBS). I did take some photos this AM and uploaded a few to the SEADNA foreign travels folder, subfolder Prague2006. I took a few boat shots and many pictures of windows (yes, windows!). I don't know why, but I'm taken by the incredible beauty of the windows in Prague. Almost every building has simply gorgeous windows - makes our boring old American windows seem, well boring....

Roger-

Beautiful photos of a grand, old, timeless city!

Very interesting windows, too.

Do they have windows with ladies of pleasure in them showing their wares, as they do in Amsterdam, Holland?

Joe.

Cool pics, those are some nice window treatments, much nicer than what one sees in the States.....but then....they've had a few more years to work on fixing those buildings up.

What is the deal on fishing over there, what? how? downriggers & hootchies?

Ken - I don't know much about the fishing here but did post a couple of photos of what I saw in the Charles river. Two guys anchored up with line on the bottom - the Prague "hog line" . I didn't see then catch anything so I don't know what's in the river or what they're after.

Joe - No women for sale in the window - but they are all over the street at night. Regardless, I find the windows to be beautiful all on their own.

Roger-

Thanks for the window and street report...wasn't looking for any action, just checking out the city scene. Should be beautiful there in the Fall of the year!

Have a safe trip home!

Joe.

Well - it's my last night in Prague. It's about 10PM and it's time for me to take an evening stroll before turning in. I posted a few more photos (including a couple of boat photos). Enjoy.
