Hello, We are new and awaiting our Tomcats arrival and we are looking forward to meeting any fellow c-brats in our area. We are based out of Sacramento and hope to be on the Delta by December. Would love to hear from you. Billy brat and Lynette :smile

Welcome aboard

There are a fair amount of Brats in the N. Cal area. I boat my 22 about a month ago, however the boat is sitting at our Washington home. As you probably have noticed there is a Delta cruise each year. The Tomcat is sure a nice rig. Did you buy the one at the Outboard motor shop?

Beautiful boat, the Tomcat. If you click on the Brat Map tab at the top, you can get an idea of where the Brat concentrations are. Well represented in N Cal.

Though we're 60 miles away we'll no doubt see you on the Delta.

Chris

I live in northern calif. I think we are 300 miles apart though.

So if you get to the northern part of the state, lets go boating.

We define northern Calif as north of the Klamath. The rest of the state needs to accept that they are central or southern Calif.javascript:emoticon('')

Great boat you got. To get here you will need to point north for a couple hundred miles and then do a hard starboard turn 10 miles south of Oregon.

From a transplant northen cal couple, Hi and welcome. We got out with our lives and most of our untaxed pay 8 years ago. I do miss striper fishing in the valley and trout in the hi-mountain lakes. I still make one trip a year to visit the in-laws in Sac. If you ever come up north for a cruise stop by and say hi.

This wannabe is in Fresno, soon moving back to Sacramento. Have fished the Delta and Sacramento River area for 20+ years, loved it, especially when there used to be fish (Sturgeon seem to be holding OK). Hopefully they will return, really miss Salmon fishing in the Sacramento area. Have been shifting to the Columbia River. Been boatless for a few years, soon to be resolved (last one was a 21' Seaswirl Striper)

Welcome.

I think C-Dory's are great though I don't have tons of boating experience. I know the C-Brats are great. I do have experience with other user groups and I think this is one of the best.

My guess is the average C-Brat isn't pretentious, appreciates quality, and has a few years under his or her belt.

I want to go up to Sacratomato one of these days, maybe I'll give you a holler.

Jeff

Billy Brat-

Hey, I'm up here in Redding and have lived all my life here in this area and in the San Francisco Bay and Delta area.

Drop in and say hello when you're up in the Redding/Shasta/Trinity Lake area!

I can show you around or give you some local advice on what's best around here.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Joe. :teeth :thup

I don't really consider myself a c-brat since I don't own a C-dory and will not for at least a few more years. My wife and I both grew up in the SF Bay area, in families with boats. (My dad grew up on Mercer Island and his family's boat was the Lawana, which has survived to become the oldest wooden boat on the lake I understand.) We lived in Sacramento for 10 years and now Fort Bragg for 19 years, and have enjoyed boating/fishing in the Bay, Delta, major reservoirs (Shasta!). The Fort Bragg coast is (was?) great for fishing but poor for cruising due to usually rough open coast and distance to other ports.

Our Sea Ray 23 is not designed for coastal/offshore use so we strive to pay extra attention to weather, fuel, and maintenance. However she was affordable to us ($15k) when purchased in 2004, has good build quality, and we have had many good times aboard, including 2 Puget/San Juans cruises.

For the future, the CD25 seems to strike a fairly happy compromise for our uses, except with the relatively flat hull I am concerned about the ride in open coast moderate sea conditions. I have heard the Venture/Marinaut 26 is significantly better in moderate seas. We hope to impose on some real c-brats perhaps next spring/summer, for guest rides on these models!

Welcome aboard. I live in Lincoln just outside of Sac and fish the coastal waters (mostly the Bodega area) and won't hesitate to trailer as far down to Monterey or up to Ft Bragg. This has been a good year for albacore and halibut!

I'm at North Lake Tahoe, Tahoe City. Just spent several beautiful days cruising the Delta out of B&W Resort and Marina off HWY 12. :D
Would some C-Brat who knows the Delta put together a Delta gathering :?:
